Dusted! One Employer’s Solutions for Respirable Crystalline Silica Exposure in Construction and General Industries

 

In this presentation, Kate McGee will review the basics of OSHA’s requirements for controlling exposure to respirable crystalline silica (RCS) including the solutions developed for the assessment and control of RCS exposure for Pennoni employees in the General and Construction Industries.  Solutions including flexible exposure control planning for construction-related work and fixed controls for RCS exposure in a material testing laboratory will be reviewed.

Ms. McGee is the Director of Health and Safety for Pennoni, a professional services firm with more than 1200 employees throughout the eastern United States, specializing in civil, municipal, structural, transportation, and environmental engineering. Prior to her role at Pennoni, she was an environmental consultant specializing in due diligence and industrial hygiene.  Ms. McGee is also an Authorized OSHA Construction Industry Outreach Trainer and a qualified trainer for Respirable Crystalline Silica.
